Due to hospital workforces needs, we've decided to merge the Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician programs.

Careers:  Medical Assistant in physician offices, hospitals, urgent care, and clinics, Phlebotomist for hospitals, urgent care, clinics and offices, medical office front staff and clinical staff, Office Manager, Clinical Supervisor

Learn:  How to work in a variety of healthcare settings performing clinical and administrative duties, the cognitive and practical skills necessary to become an entry level Medical Assistant and skilled Phlebotomist, giving you an edge to become certified in both fields.

Skills:  Vital Signs, Phlebotomy, ECGs, Giving Injections and Vaccines, Wound Care, Assisting in surgical procedures, POCT (point-of-care-testing) including urinalysis, strep, mono, and COVID testing, Office Billing & Coding Procedures, Customer Service Skills, EHR training and much more!

Cool!:  Two of the fastest growing Allied Health Careers – and they are rolled into one program! Medical Assisting is expected to grow by 18% and Phlebotomy by 22% over the next 8 years! This is much faster than most careers.

Certifications:  National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT) through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Healthcare Provicer Basic Life Support CPR/First Aid through American Heart Association (AHA), Infection Control and Certified Drug Screen Collector through Department of Transportation..

Practicum Info: 200-hour unpaid practicum experience in a physician's office, urgent care, and an approved laboratory.

Graduates have been employed by:  Fisher-Titus Medical Care LLC, NOMS, Mercy Medical Partners, Firelands Physician Group, Cleveland Clinic, Cole Eye Institute, UH, Great Lakes Physicians, Dermatology Partners, Mercy of Lorain and Tiffin, Firelands Regional Medical Center, The Bellevue Hospital, AVITA Health System in Bucyrus, ProMedica Fremont Hospital.
