Two EHOVE students participated in the SkillsUSA state competition to demonstrate their career tech skills against students from other schools.  Congratulations to the students whose results were impressive at this large, national competition:

  • Visual & Interactive Media student Morgan Shelton (Huron HS) finished 8th in the Advertising Design category.
  • Cosmetology student Anita Ruggles finished in the top 15 in the Prepared Speech category.

Participating in student organizations and competitions allows students to experience the leadership opportunities, community service work, chance to apply the career field skills they’ve learned, and professional connections and opportunities.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.  The Ohio chapter provides its 31,500+ career-technical education members, which includes many EHOVE students, the opportunity to participate in local, regional, state and national competitive events, and encourages students to give back to the community through various community service activities.  For more information, go to www.skillsusa.org.
