The 3,481-square-foot space will be used for the new EHOVE Adult Education HVAC Technician program. Beginning in the fall of 2023, EHOVE will launch a similar program for high school juniors and seniors.

The training center was created as EHOVE partnered with local employers in the HVAC industry to meet the high demand for qualified workers in our community.  It is now operational and providing training for students to learn what they need to know to work in the heating, air conditioning and ventilation industries.  Students receive technical, hands-on training using modern equipment and applicable techniques in HVAC installation, maintenance and repair.

The 3481 sq. ft. center was formerly the longtime home of the high school’s Criminal Justice program.  Since that program relocated to a newly-built wing in another campus building, the space has been used for storage for the last couple of years.

The utilities, plumbing, electrical, concrete and construction renovations of the space were completed by the school’s own Adult Education Trades & Industry instructors.  Students in the high school’s Electrical Tech and Construction Tech programs also worked on the electrical and concrete construction projects.  Because the only costs were equipment and a painting contractor, the district saved thousands in labor costs.

The following local companies are members on the school’s advisory panel to ensure the students are learning what is needed within the industry:

  • Hartland & Wilken Custom Heating and Cooling
  • Norwalk Heating and Cooling*
  • Gundlach Sheet Metal Works*
  • Hohler Furnace and Sheet Metal Inc.*
  • Wilkes Plumbing and Heating
  • Wolff Bros.

*These companies have also donated equipment for students' training.

Additionally, EHOVE was awarded a grant from North Central Ohio Chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association.  This grant covered the cost of purchasing a four-ton rooftop unit for instruction.
